Many items are needed and developed for medical and pharmaceutical care. Some of these articles are disposable, others have a life span of several years. Some of these medical articles come into direct contact with the body (e.g. implants), others only indirectly (e.g. dialysis filters).
Pharmaceutical articles in contact with the body contain an active ingredient that releases its active ingredient into the body during its useful life (e.g. vaginal rings with progestorol). What all applications have in common is that we, as machine builders, know and follow the respective applicable guidelines (FDA, GMP, GAMP, etc...) for the production of such machine.
